Tour of the Universe

Using Partiview from the AMNH, we take a tour of the universe. 0:00:00: Starting out with the Milky Way. 0:00:34: expanded to a screen diameter of 70Mly. 0:00:51: expanded to a screen diameter of 200Mly, to take into account the cubical Tully data set. 0:01:11: expand to about 350Mly to see the Tully dataset in its entirety. 0:01:28: change the contrast to show the set better. 0:01:33: view the "Zone of Avoidance" 0:01:47: view the Sloan Data Set. 0:01:57: expand the view to about 1Gly. 0:02:26: expand the view to about 5Gly. 0:02:36: expand to show the Sloan quasar dataset. 0:02:38: compare ordinary galaxies in Sloan to the quasar/QSO data. 0:02:48: expand to about 10Gly. 0:02:56: change the contrast to highlight sparser areas of the dataset 0:03:05: expand to about 15Gly. 0:03:12: add 2dF QSO dataset. 0:03:35: add WMAP CMB dataset. 0:04:10: go back in time to before the CMB. No observations from there are possible. 0:04:24: odd nonsense view suggests other universes beyond our ability to EVER know about them. 0:04:34: come home. 0:04:38: show how the Sloan dataset looks in our sky as bands.
